Troubleshoot And Repair A Bosch Dishwasher

If dishes are loaded too close together, they may not get clean.

Bosch dishwashers come in a wide variety of models with various features and functions. Many of the basic functions of all Bosch dishwashers are the same. Troubleshooting common problems that can occur with any of the models of Bosch dishwashers is the first step that should be taken if issues arise. Many of the common challenges that arise can be resolved by following some basic troubleshooting steps.

Instructions

Dishwasher Will Not Start

1. Close the door completely. If the door is not fully closed and latched, the unit will not start.

2. Turn the main power switch to the On position. The unit may not be turned on.

3. Check the delay start settings, if equipped. Disengage delay start if it is activated.

4. Check the circuit breaker for the outlet the dishwasher is plugged into. If the breaker has been tripped, reset it.

5. Deactivate the child lock, if equipped on the model being used.

6. Select a wash cycle. If a cycle has not been selected, the dishwasher will not start.

7. Check the water supply leading to the dishwasher. Turn the water supply on if it is turned off or not fully on.

Dishes Not Clean

8. Check the spray arm to make sure it can rotate fully. Move any objects that are blocking the path of the spray arm.

9. Increase or decrease the amount of detergent being used. If the home has hard water, use more detergent; if the home has soft water, use less detergent.

10. Clean the filter. A clogged filter will hinder the dishwasher's cleaning ability.

11. Rearrange the dishes so the water spray will reach all items. If dishes packed too close together they will not get clean.

12. Use a different wash cycle setting. Choose the cycle that is appropriate for the type of dish load being washed.
