Troubleshoot The Kohler Pulldown Faucet

The Kohler pull down faucet has a detachable spout sprayer that pulls out of the faucet for easy cleaning and rinsing. However, the faucet is prone to leaking and other problems like low water flow. Both problems are solvable if you know troubleshoot the faucet. Only basic tools and a working knowledge of faucets is required for this quick fix. Just be sure to take the right precautions before you begin.


Instructions


1. Shut off the water to the faucet to avoid a spill while you troubleshoot.


2. Replace the cartridge. Unscrew the handle's set screw on the backside of the handle with an Allen wrench and slide the handle off. Unscrew the dome cap under the handle, turning it counterclockwise.


3. Unscrew the retaining sleeve under the dome cap and remove the cartridge. Replace the cartridge with a new one, replace the sleeve and tighten. Install the dome cap and tighten, then slide the handle onto the faucet and tighten the handle screw.


4. Clean the faucet sprayer head if the faucet's sprayer has low water pressure. To remove sediments and built-up mineral deposits, rub your finger over the sprayer head.


5. Unscrew the sprayer head to detach it from the sprayer's hose. Take the screen out of the hose and wash it out with clean water to remove all debris in the screen. Replace the screw and reconnect the sprayer head, screwing it back into the hose connector.
