Replace The Fog Lamp Light In A Mazda 6

Replace the Fog Lamp Light in a Mazda 6

From time to time you may need to replace the fog lamp light in your Mazda 6. It's important for your safety that you replace bulbs as soon as possible. Before you begin, turn off the car and make sure the headlight switch is in the Off position. Consider wearing eye protection when performing this task; halogen bulbs contain pressurized gas.

Instructions

1. Locate the four screws under the front of the Mazda 6 below the fog light. You may have to get down on your knees to find these screws.

2. Twist each screw out in a counterclockwise motion with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Set the screws aside in a safe place where you won't lose them.

3. Peel the mudguard back by hand (or use the screwdriver for leverage) so that you have access to the lamp.

4. Use your thumb to press the tab on the fog bulb's electrical connector. At the same time, pull the connector downward to disconnect it from the bulb.

5. Remove the socket/bulb assembly by turning it. Carefully slide the bulb straight out from the socket.

6. Install the bulb in reverse of removal, being careful not to touch the glass with your hands. Put on a pair of latex gloves if desired.

Tips Warnings

If your skin accidentally touches the glass part of the bulb, wipe it down with a soft cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol before you turn on the light. The oils in your skin can damage new halogen fog lamps.
