Attach A Pur Filter To A Kohler Faucet

Keep your drinking water clean and clear.

Even though the Environmental Protection Agency regulates city water supplies, Consumer Reports states that trace amounts of dangerous contaminates still exist in tap water. These contaminates include lead, chloroform, nitrate, radon, arsenic and E. coli bacteria, but attaching a PUR filter to your faucet can help remove them from your drinking water. A PUR filter attaches to Kohler or other faucets to help keep the eight 8-ounce glasses of water you should drink each day as contaminate free as possible.

Instructions

1. Turn the aerator clockwise with pliers to remove it from your Kohler faucet. Wrap the teeth of the pliers in masking tape or the Kohler aerator in a soft cloth before removing so as not to damage the faucet's finish on the aerator.

2. Verify the threads on your Kohler swing spout fits the mounting nut on the PUR filter. Slip the mounting nut over the threads. If the mounting nut does not fit the threads on your Kohler faucet, install one of the faucet adapters and gaskets included with the PUR filter. If the included adapters do not fit your Kohler faucet, take your aerator and filter to a hardware or home improvement store. Purchase an adapter to reduce or increase the size of your Kohler's female threads to match the mounting nut.

3. Place the gasket between the adapter and the spout. Twist the adapter counterclockwise onto the spout.

4. Attach the male threaded mounting nuts to the female threads of the Kohler swing spout. Turn the PUR filter mounting nut counterclockwise to tighten the filter onto your Kohler faucet.
