Get Pet Stains Out Of Leather

Remove pet stains from leather with household items.

Removing pet stains from leather often requires patience. Pet stains can leave behind foul odors as well as unpleasant stains that can become permanent if you do not take action immediately. Once you notice the stain on the leather, it may be too late to remove the stain completely. Instead of replacing your leather items, take the time and effort to remove as much of the stain as possible.

Instructions

1. Use paper towels to soak up any urine and remove any fecal matter. When cleaning urine, simply place the paper towels over the urine and blot it up rather than rubbing it into the leather. Remove the cushions from leather furniture before proceeding.

2. Pour 1 qt. of hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle. Add #xBC; cup of baking soda and 1 tbsp. of dish soap. Screw on the spray nozzle and shake the bottle for 30 seconds until the ingredients mix well.

3. Spray the solution onto the pet stain and allow it to set for five minutes. Wipe the cleaner from the leather with paper towels.

Tips Warnings

Wear gloves to prevent contaminating your hands.

Use a commercial enzyme product to remove any lingering pet odors.

Add a leather conditioner to protect the leather from future pet stains.
