Maryland was not far behind Nevada, paying its technicians $65,820 a year. The next highest-paying states were Hawaii and the District of Columbia. Compared to average national salaries, the wages earned by Texas' technicians were comparable to those earned by technicians working in other states. However, salaries technicians earned in Texas were about $8,000 to $10,000 below what technicians earned in top-paying states.
