Pull-out faucets are a nice convenience to have in the kitchen. They make it much easier to wash vegetables and clean the sink after you have washed dishes. When the hose on the faucet cracks or otherwise becomes damaged, you should know replace the hose on a pull-out faucet. Fortunately there is not much to disconnecting and reattaching a new hose. You can purchase replacement hoses at your local hardware store.
Instructions
1. Turn both water supply valves off to the faucet. Open the sink cabinet door, and place a bucket nearby to catch any residual water that may remain in the hose.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the two screws that secure the weight to the pull-out faucet hose. Locate the lock nut directly under the faucet stem that secures the faucet assembly to the sink base.
3. Using a flathead screwdriver, remove the three screws that secure the lock nut to the faucet assembly. Use a pair of channel lock pliers to loosen the lock nut, and remove it from the faucet stem.
4. Unscrew the pull-out faucet hose from the faucet stem. You may need to use the channel lock pliers to unscrew the hose. Go back up to the sink, grab the pull-out faucet and carefully pull it out of the faucet assembly. Grab the hose near the pull-out faucet head with one hand, and twist the faucet head counterclockwise with the other hand, removing the faucet head from the hose.
5. Insert the new pull-out faucet hose into the faucet body until it comes through the bottom of the faucet assembly. Go back under the sink, and wrap plumber's tape around the threads of the faucet stem where the hose will connect.
6. Insert the rubber O-ring that came with the replacement hose into the hose end. Place the lock nut around the hose, and thread the new hose onto the faucet stem and tighten it with a pair of pliers. Secure the lock nut with the retaining screws to the faucet assembly.
7. Go back above the sink, and secure the pull-out faucet handle to the hose by threading it onto the hose threads. Slide the pull-out faucet head back into the faucet assembly.
8. Go below the sink, and attach the hose weight clamp over the hose. Secure the clamp by tightening the screws with a screwdriver.
