Instructions For Making Nylon Net Scrubbies

Add a shower scrubbie to your shower tool kit.

Net shower scrubbies are relaxing bath and shower tools and many people like using them to get a good lather. Scrubbies range in size from hand-sized to oversized and come in a large choice of colors. After a time, these scrubbing tools take a beating and may fall apart. You can make your own scrubbers with some nylon netting and a few other supplies. Make a bunch to give as handmade gifts to friends and families during special occasions.

Instructions

1. Cut the netting into three sections of 6-inch wide strips of netting. Each strip should measure 72 inches long. Stack the strips on top of one another.

2. Thread a needle with dental floss.

3. Make a series of basting stitches starting at the bottom center of the net and working upward. Make a basting stitch by pushing up from under the fabric. Pull up on the thread and hold on to the bottom of the thread to keep it from slipping through.

4. Skip about 1 inch of fabric then push the needle through the fabric. Continue to make the stitch until you have stitched the entire netting.

5. Bunch up the fabric by holding the thread and easing the material back with your hand.

6. Wrap the thread a few times around the center of the netting. Make a knot and clip away the excess thread. Move the net around with your fingers to make a ball.
