The words can relate to a common baseball theme such as players enshrined in the Hall of Fame or players on a particular team. The player who can solve the puzzles and identify the theme the fastest wins.

Baseball board games allow players to simulate the play of Major League Baseball by making use of actual player statistics. Games such as APBA Baseball, Strat-O-Matic Baseball and Baseball Strategy give players the chance to set lineups, make pitching changes and use tactics like stealing bases and bunting. The games are designed so that the Major League players produce performances that are close to their real-life play. Some games, including APBA Baseball, sell player cards with updated information after each baseball season.

Baseball-themed games are make a good idea for parties. The game of baseball dates back to the 19th century, so its wealth of history creates opportunities for games of trivia. You can award prizes to the person who answers the most questions correctly.

In a game known as 500, one person hits balls to other party guests, who can collect points for catching grounders and fly balls. The players lose points for making an error. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game.

In dartboard baseball, the numbers one through nine on the dartboard represent innings. The players score runs when their dart lands in one of the rings that correspond to the proper inning. For example, when playing in inning one, if the dart lands in the small white ring between the red and blue rings under the number 1, the player scores three runs. If it lands in the red ring, the player scores two runs. If the dart lands in the larger white area between the red ring and the bullseye, the player scores one run. Each player gets to shoot three darts per inning.
