Bitten by Rainsoft Water Filtration System

I just had Rainsoft come out to my house on Wednesday evening to test my water. By the end of the night I signed an agreement to purchase a whole house water softener, pH Neutralizer and R/O Drinking filtration system. The salesman helped me up my credit limit on my Home Depot credit card by $5,000 to $7,500 to pay for the system. Asked me if I could help them out by having the system installed the next morning. They had another system being installed in the area and he would give me $100 AmEx Gift Card if I agreed. I agreed reluctantly. By 1pm today the system was installed. I paid over $6,500 for this system. I felt pressured to have the system installed so quickly. I would like to have the system removed. I live in NJ, the dealer/installer is a PA company. Can I have the contract voided and the system removed by the Buyer Cancellation Rights. Which I don't remember seeing. If not, is there another way I can have the system removed and get refunded. I filled out a card at Home Depot to have just a water test done. Nothing more and here I am with an overpriced system that I really can't afford HELP!!!!! You may need to post this question in the legal section. If they have a signed contract and fulfilled their obligation, no matter how over priced or unnecessary you may be stuck having to fulfill your end of the contract... pay. I can sympathize with you. My neighbor got hooked several years ago. I talked him into getting our county's Environmental Services Dept to test his well water. It turned out his water was slightly hard. Something you could live with or take care of with a simple (relatively inexpensive) water softener but they sold him the entire package with regular servicing. All he could do was wait for the service contract to expire and not renew. He was on the hook for the equipment, installation and the service contract period. Many of the water filtration specialists in my are sound similar to what you ran into. It has given me a very negative view of the whole professional water filtration business. I normally advise people to have their water tested by an independent third party. Many companies online will perform the service as will your local Health or Environmental Services Dept both for a relatively nominal fee. I consider the $50 spent for a independent professional lab analysis money well spent. Yes in NJ you have 3 days to cancel the contract and get a refund. Better hurry.... You do have 3 business days to cancel an In home sales contract. You need to call Rainsoft and Home Depot to let them know you are can canceling, fill out then cancelation form and mail it return receipt requested. And you know they will discount it even more...so don't fall for it.
