Cabbage Diets That Work

There are many diets that promise dramatic results in a limited amount of time. While it is possible to lose quite a few pounds in as little as a week, it is not the healthiest method. Additionally because some of the diets are considered crash diets, the chances of you regaining all the weight you lost is rather high unless you alter your diet and workout routine But one diet that works is the cabbage soup diet.








Cabbage Soup Diet


If you want to lose more than a pound or two quickly for a special occasion, the cabbage soup diet is an option. The diet limits your caloric intake by only allowing you to eat the cabbage soup the first week. Later, incorporat efruits, vegetables and other foods into your diet.


For the first week, the plan is simple. Cabbage has very low caloric content, as do the other ingredients in the soup. A typical recipe consists of cabbage, green peppers, celery, carrots and soup mix. Some people enjoy the taste, mixing it up by adding their own blend of seasonings.


You are allowed to eat as much as the cabbage soup as you want. In fact, it's encouraged. You should also drink lots of water, as well as take a multivitamin daily, as you will not be receiving all the nutrients you need from the soup alone.


Maintaining Weight Loss








After you have lost your initial weight and wish to keep it off, you will need to incorporate exercise to your daily routine and keep your caloric intake lower than before.


By working out, you'll be burning off more calories. The key is not to add more calories than you burn.


You may decide to substitute the cabbage soup a few times a week as a meal replacement to have a low calorie option.
