Herbal Medicines For Dark Circles Under The Eyes

Dark circles under the eyes may occur for a variety of reasons. Allergies, genetics, smoking, drinking, lack of sleep, dehydration, stress and diet are common reasons for dark circles to appear. Herbal remedies have been around for centuries and are well known for healing effects and alternative benefits. Simple remedies such as pistachios, milk, potatoes and almond oil can help diminish dark circles under the eyes and keep them from reappearing.

Pistachio Nuts and Milk

An excellent remedy for under eye circles is combining pistachio nuts with milk. Start by mashing a handful of pistachio nuts. Then add a teaspoon of milk to the nuts and mix into a paste. Apply the mixture over each eye and leave it on for 20 minutes. Keep in mind that this is not an overnight cure. The mixture needs to be applied for at least a month to diminish dark circles.

Potatoes

Potatoes works wonders on dark circles because they contain catecholase, which is an enzyme that lightens skin. Start by slicing a raw potato, and then place the slices over each eye. Leave the potatoes on your eyes for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow up by applying a cream made specifically for removing dark circles under the eyes, and leave on overnight. You should start to see results within a few days.

Almond Cream

Almond cream helps your skin in a few ways. First, the agents in the cream help to promote glowing skin. Second, it is known to reduce dark circles under and around the eyes. Apply the cream generously around the eyes, but be careful to avoid getting the cream into your eyes. Leave the almond oil for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. This can be done twice a day. Your skin will improve almost immediately, but it will take a few days to a week before you will notice the dark circles under your eyes gradually fade.
