Care Of Porcelain Veneers

Good oral hygiene is essential to boost mental and physical well being. Caring for your porcelain veneers should be a conscious act on your part. Part of porcelain veneer care is regular checkups with your dental care professional at least four times a year. Porcelain laminates could last up to 20 years; they are durable, but not indestructible. Take proper care of them as if they are your natural teeth.

Instructions

1. Brush your teeth regularly with a soft bristle toothbrush. While brushing your teeth is a practice learned at a young age, it is advisable to brush your teeth as often as possible or after every major meal. Brushing three times a day is one sure way of keeping your teeth free of plaque.

2. Make it a point to floss after brushing and after snacks. By flossing, you remove small particles of food in between teeth. These are food and plaque buildup a toothbrush can't reach.

3. Wear a mouth guard if you grind your teeth while sleeping. Although porcelain veneers are durable, constant grinding could wear out your porcelain laminates.
