Types Of Kalasarpa Dosha

Planetary alignment determines Kalasarpa Dosha effects in a person's life.








Planets falling under Rahu and Ketu is called Kalasarpa Dosha. In the birth horoscope, planets between Rahu - the moon's north side, and Ketu - the moon's south side, cause kalasarpa. If a person has Kalsarpa in his or her chart, one or more of twelve types of Kalasarpa Dosha interfere with potential and prevent other important influences of the chart to take effect. The type impacting a person depends on the planetary alignment of Rahu and Ketu in a person's chart.


Types 1 through 4


Type 1 is Ananta Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the first and seventh position, respectively. This influences anxiety, inferiority complex and water phobias. Type 2 is Kulik Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are the second and eighth position, respectively. This impacts monetary loss, accidents, speech disorders and family problems. Type 3 is Vasuki Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are the third and ninth position, respectively. This results in blood pressure problems, sudden death and loss of relatives. Type 4 is Shankhapal Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the fourth and tenth position. This influences the lack of a father figure and job related problems.


Types 5 through 8


Type 5 is Padma Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the fifth and eleventh position, respectively. This results in educational challenges and female illnesses. Type 6 is Maha Padma Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the sixth and twelfth position. This results in back pain, skin diseases and decreases in monetary possessions. Type 7 is Takshak Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the seventh and first position, respecticely. This results in business losses, unhappy marriage and work-related problems. Type 8 is Karkautak Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the eighth and second position. This results in property loss, sexually transmitted diseases and family problems.








Types 9 through 12


Type 9 is Shankhachud Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the ninth and third position, respectively. This results in anti-religious activities, high blood pressure and cronic anxiety. Type 10 is Patak Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the tenth and fourth position. This results in low blood pressure, ghost experiences and robberies of personal properties. Type 11 is Vishadhar Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the eleventh and fifth position, respectively. This impacts stability, problems with children and sibling conflicts. Type 12 is Shesnag Kalasarpa. In this type, Rahu and Ketu are in the twelfth and sixth position. This results in defeat, misfortune and eye related diseases.


Reducing the Effect of Kalasarpa Dosha


There are specific birth years that are impacted by Kalsarpa. Some believe that reducing the effects is possible. Several ways to do this exist and are currently practiced, under Hindu astrology practices. One suggestion is to pray to Lord Shiva specifically on Mondays. Others combat the influences of Kalsarpa by wearing a special ring shaped like a serpent on the middle finger to guard against Kalasarpa effects. Specific places for worship in India exists as another protective measure.
