Using crimping beads and a few simple tools, you can learn bead a stunning crystal necklace.

Instructions

1. Fix a clasp onto one end of the the beading wire and close using crimping pliers. Tuck the end of the wire into a loop and close the stem using the outer jaw of the crimping pliers. Make sure the wires are not crossed within the pliers. Position the notch around the trimmed ends and squeeze the crimping pliers closed gently to secure the loop.

2. Cut the beading wire to the desired length. For a delicate choker necklace, cut about 14 to 16 inches of wire. For a looser necklace, cut approximately 17 to 20 inches; for a long necklace cut approximately 28 to 34 inches. Always hold the wire up to your neck for the best judgment of appropriate length.

3. Add a small crimp bead to the beading wire 1 inch from the clasp. Use a crimp bead that is very small so it will not be seen, approximately 2-by-1 mm. Hold the crimp bead in place using chain nose pliers and flatten.

4. Slide a crystal bead onto the beading wire, pushing it against the first crimp bead. Put a second crimp bead up against the other side of the bead and use the chain nose pliers to flatten.

5. Attach another crimp bead onto the wire approximately 1 inch from the last bead and flatten with chain nose pliers. If you would like your crystal necklace to have more crystals, place the crimping beads closer together. For fewer crystals, place them farther apart.

6. Continue the pattern. Slide another crystal up against the second crimping bead and fix it in place by attaching another crimping bead right up against it. Flatten the crimping bead. Continue these steps until you have reached the desired length of your necklace.

7. Crimp the other end of the clasp onto the end of the beaded crystal necklace.
