Prevent Alzheimers

Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that leads to gradual mental deterioration among the elderly. However, there some things you can do while you are still young to reduce your chances of developing Alzheimer’s.

Instructions

Prevent Alzheimer’s

1. Keep your brain active. Take a class, read and write a lot, learn new tasks and do memorization exercises. This can help stimulate your brain to grow new cells and preserve your memory.

2. Spend quality time with friends and family. Join clubs or social groups, take trips and visit different cultures, and stay connected to friends and family. Studies show that having close personal relationships promotes healthy connections among brain cells.

3. Exercise on a regular basis. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something like walking, biking, gardening or aerobics. Physical activity promotes blood flow to the brain which can stimulate the development of new brain cells.

4. Maintain a healthy diet. Eat plenty of dark vegetables and fruits because they are rich in antioxidants which help preserve brain cells. Include fish like salmon in your diet because it contains omega-3 fatty acids which are good for the brain. Avoid foods that are high in cholesterol and fat.
