Subluxation Exercise

Doctors say that walking is one of the best exercises around.

According to chiropractors, a subluxation is when at least one vertebrae of the spine moves out of position, putting pressure on the spinal cord and irritating spinal nerves. This causes the nerves to malfunction and can result in pain in the body. In many cases, the pain can be eased through exercise, which can help support the spine and ease the pressure on the nerves.

Abdominal Crunch

The abdominal crunch helps to build strong core muscles, which in turn support your back and ease back pain. To perform an abdominal crunch, lie on your back with your knees raised and your feet flat on the floor. Cross your arms over your chest, gripping each shoulder with your hands. Slowly raise your shoulders one inch off the floor. Then slowly return to a resting position.

Shoulder Shrugs

This is an exercise that can be done weighted or without weights. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your hands at your sides. Then lift your shoulders straight up. Do not roll them. When you have finished, return your shoulders to their former resting position.

Walking

Walking is said to be the best low-impact aerobic exercise for strengthening core muscles. Compared to all other exercise, walking has the lowest instance of injury. Walking strengthens core muscles around joints, which helps to stabilize them. Additionally, anyone can participate in walking at all fitness levels. When you begin walking for exercise, a good pair of walking shoes is your only requirement. You may wish to include a pedometer to help you keep track of the number of steps that you walk in a day. Though most people only walk an average of 5,000 steps a day, studies have shown that you get most benefit when you walk 10,000 steps a day, or approximately 5 miles.
