Treat Hair Burned By Coloring

Treat your color damaged hair and recapture it's former, shining glory.

Dying your hair can leave you with straw-like strands that are difficult to comb and look dull and unhealthy. The straw texture is common if you have lightened your hair because this can remove protein. This can be remedied with some hair TLC.

Instructions

1. Cut your hair to get rid of split ends. Once the hair is split the damage is done, and the best thing to do is to trim the hair. Go to your hairdresser and explain you just want a little taken off. He will examine your hair and let you know how much you will need to lose.

2. Use a hair mask, or deep conditioning treatment twice a week. Apply the mask after shampooing your hair, but be sure to towel dry your hair so that the product does not become diluted. Follow the time recommendations on the label. They are designed to be left on for a certain length and leaving it on longer will not help.

3. Add an ionic leave-in conditioner once you are out of the shower. Applying this before you heat style your hair will smooth frizz hair and tame dry ends. The leave-in conditioner also helps to lock some much-needed moisture into your hair.
