Get An Insurance Company To Cover Dental Veneers

Get an Insurance Company to Cover Dental Veneers

When it comes to cosmetic dentistry, your insurance company isn't very likely to cover your costs. However, there are a couple of loopholes you could look into. In most cases they will only cover replacement veneers for old worn-out ones. Look into it, though, and maybe, just maybe, you could get those veneers covered by your dental insurance company, after all.

Instructions

1. Call your insurance company. Most likely the answer will be no, since veneers are typically done for appearance's sake exclusively. Now, if there was a health issue which could be worsened by not getting veneers, then you may have a case.

2. Research if your insurance company will cover existing veneers. In the case that your current veneers have deteriorated, you may be able to have them replaced under your insurance.

3. Ensure that the deterioration of your current veneers was being documented by your dentist. If this is done, most insurance companies will cover the replacement veneers.

4. Submit a pre-treatment estimate from your dentist to the insurance company. If you submit a claim for veneers, it will be outright rejected since it is a cosmetic procedure. Make sure that the pre-treatment estimate documents the deterioration of your veneers. Ask the insurance company to replace your veneers with crowns. This will be approved. Then, the dentist office will write back to the insurance company saying that it would be in your best interest to go with full replacement veneers. This will most likely come back approved.
