Natural Remedies: Prepare Home Remedies for Scar Removal
Scars can be embarrassing and cause low self-esteem. Acne scars are particularly upsetting because they are often on the face. Although home remedies cannot provide a permanent solution, they can hide the appearance of scars. Keloid scars are a formation of scar tissue that grows in an abnormal way like a tumor. Dealing with keloid scars is problematic because surgical removal only causes the keloid scar to grow back again. Home remedies are especially important for keloid scars.
Instructions
1. Mash a ripe banana and apply it over the scar. Allow it to remain on the scar for several minutes and then rinse with cold water. This is one of the most popular methods of scar removal.
2. Stir three teaspoons of dried, powdered basil leaves in one cup of boiling water. Allow this to cool and then apply it to the scars.
3. Treat your scars with a topical application of jojoba oil. This herbal oil contains wax esters that protect and nourish the skin. Jojoba oil is considered to be a more effective means of treating keloid scars.
4. Apply gotu kola ointment topically over your scar. This herb contains several active compounds that have been found to increase blood flow to wounds, inhibit the overproduction of collagen in scar tissue, and improve the strength and elasticity of skin.
5. Use a sterile cotton ball to apply onion juice over the scar. In animal testing, it was found that the effect of onion juice on collagen had a positive effect on the treatment of keloid scars.
