Make A Teeth Whitening Tray Out Of A Mouth Guard

Getting your teeth whitened by a dentist can cost a lot of money. Not only do you have to pay for the whitening tubes, you also have to pay for the molds of your mouth and the trays. And if you lose the trays, you have to pay to get them replaced. Instead of paying for those expensive trays, try using sport mouth guards, which can cost a little as $5.

Instructions

1. Put water into a saucepan, filling it about halfway up.

2. Put the pot on the stove, and turn the burner to high heat.

3. Allow the water to boil.

4. Drop both mouth guards into the boiling water.

5. Keep them in the water for three to five minutes. (Boiling the guards will make them more flexible and will hold the imprint of the teeth.)

6. Take the guards out, and let them cool for one minute.

7. Place one guard into your mouth at a time. Put the guard to fit around top teeth, and bite down for one minute. Do the same with the other guard on the lower teeth, and bite down again for one minute.

8. Allow the guards to cool. When ready, squeeze the whitening solution into the guards and place on the teeth. If the mouth guards are too big, use only one at a time. Leave the solution on for as long as your dentist recommends.
