Know When Menopause Is Approaching

Menopause is the end of a woman’s menstruation cycle due to her ovaries producing lower amounts of the hormones progesterone and estrogen. The period without a period is one year and it is at this point you can say you have entered menopause. Learn how you'll know when this time is approaching.

Instructions

1. Get heated up. The most familiar of symptoms is the sudden sensation of the uncomfortable warmth that quickly spreads over your body. This sensation called a hot flash is one of the first symptoms to alert you to the fact that menopause is approaching. Hot flashes also come with a nighttime version called night sweats. The discomfort of night sweats literally awakens some women from their sleep.

2. Write it down. Experiencing menstrual irregularities are quite common leading up to menopause. Due to hormonal imbalance, your period will fluctuate between coming more frequently and coming later and later. It will go from heavier than usual to very light, you may even skip a month then regulate for several months after that. Your doctor may want you to keep a record of this activity.

3. Go to sleep. You spend most of the night tossing and turning, you are a victim of insomnia. Knowing you have to get up for work the next day does not help. When you are approaching menopause you find that you sleep less and when you do sleep, upon waking you are ready to go back to sleep.

4. Drag yourself around. You'll start to experience an overwhelming feeling of being tired more often. This is due to constant sleep disturbances that cause you to feel fatigued and exhausted most of the time.

5. Find your head. You will start to wonder where your head is most of the time. Lack of memory and concentration problems due to your lack of sleep is normal. Tasks that you use to whip through may take longer to complete, if you are able to complete them at all. To combat this you may want to learn relaxation techniques along with deep breathing exercises to help you clear out the cobwebs.

6. Use an antibacterial deodorant. During this time, you will likely experience an increase in body order. The odorless perspiration you usually experience has now blossomed into bad body order. If you do not use an antibacterial soap, the smell becomes more intense, especially if you have bad genes and are prone to body order. However, using a good antibacterial soap when you shower will help to kill the bacteria that form on the skin producing the order.
