Use Acupressure For Energy

Acupressure is a drug-free way to boost your energy levels and feel more alert. Acupressure points lie on energy meridians, the channels through which your body's energy flows. Unblock the channels by massaging these points, and energy can flow freely again.

Instructions

Use Acupressure for Energy

1. Probe each described area with your thumb until you find an area that causes what the Chinese call a "sweet pain" sensation, which feels something like the tenderness of a bruise, but is confined to a very small area. Start with light pressure. Although pressing the recommended points might be uncomfortable, you should feel the benefits of increased alertness almost immediately.

2. Locate and press the Taichong point. This spot is on the top of your foot; start at the webbing between the biggest toe and the one next to it and run your finger between the two metatarsal bones (the bones that control each toe), toward the ankle. You will feel a groove between the bones about two inches from the webbing. Probe that area as deeply as you can tolerate until you feel a spot that is especially sensitive. Using your thumbs, massage this point on each foot.

3. Press the Yongquan acupressure point, which is on the sole of the foot. Start at the webbing between the big toe and the second toe; trace down around the inside edge of the ball of the foot (the fleshy mound under the big toe) until you find a slight depression, about one-third of the way down. This spot is easy to identify because it is very sensitive. This spot is so energizing, it has been used to revive people who have fainted. Using your thumbs, massage on each foot.

4. Stimulate the Zusanli point, which is about three inches below the kneecap along the outside edge of the shin bone. It is right below the spot where the two bones of the leg meet. Massage, using your thumbs, on both legs.
