State Requirements
Currently only eight states require formal certification to practice as a chiropractic assistant: Arizona, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota and Tennessee.
Curriculum
Chiropractic assistant certification requirements vary. Florida, for example, certifies chiropractic assistants based on on-the-job supervision from a licensed chiropractor. Certified chiropractic assistants in South Dakota obtain CPR certification and complete 20 hours of coursework, while the Tennessee certification program includes 50 hours of coursework and a written examination.
Additional Certifications

Expected Pay
A chiropractic assistant working full time in the United States earns between $9.81 and $13.07 per hour, or $20,553 to $28,306 annually.
