If you have ever had a sprained ankle you know that it can be a pretty painful experience. Here is a couple of home remedies that can be helpful in easing the sprain and the pain.

Instructions

1. The first option to help with a sprained ankle is the R.I.C.E option. R.I.C.E involves four steps in dealing with a sprained ankle

R-Rest, keep off the ankle for as long as possible

I-Ice, put ice on the sprained ankle

C-Compression, wrap the ankle up in a sports wrap make sure to do it tight but not to cut off circulation

E- Elevate, elevate your injured foot over your head

2. Another option is to use vinegar and a brown paper bag. Soak the brown paper bag in vinegar and then put the bag on the ankle. It is an older remedy that is still an effective treatment.

3. A third option is to soak the foot in hot water and epsom salt. The best thing to use a mop bucket because it can accommodate a big foot. Fill the bucket up with some hot water, make sure it is enough to completely cover your foot. Add epsom salt to the bucket of water and soak your ankle in it.
