Crystals & Gemstones In Wicca

Wiccan crystals and gemstones are believed to have intrinsic-magical powers.

Crystals and gemstones used within the Pagan or Wiccan religion are used to bring about personal growth within and around the individual. Because Wicca is a naturalistic religion and way of life, crystals and gemstones are thought to have magical purposes. They are believed to have healing, protective, and personal magic properties. They are often used to promote personal aspects, such as happiness, health and longevity. According to legend and lore, some crystals and gemstones are used to sharpen psychic ability and ward off spiritual attacks. Furthermore, they are used to make connections with gods and goddesses on ceremonial days.

Agate

The agate is considered to be a hard-working stone. It is a reliable and steady resource in Wiccan theology to bring grace, longevity and protection. It is especially used for a person with a highly sensitive nature. They come in a variety of forms and colors, including the black and white agate, the botswana agate and the blue lace agate. They also come in the form of the white-lace agate, the Mexican lace agate and pink lace agate. Each specific agate type is used for a specific outcome, including the ability to dissipate depression and despair, to bring peace and mental clarity, and to strengthen thoughts and attitudes.

Bloodstone

The bloodstone is another popular gemstone within the Wiccan religion. It comes in a variety of quartz formations, but does not come in crystal form. However, the bloodstone was used to stop excessive bleeding for those fighting during ancient wartimes. It is magically used to bring money, luck, endurance and courage. Some believe it can help cure blood-borne diseases or illnesses like high cholesterol. It comes from the family of Chalcedony formations and includes quartz such as Jasper, Carnelian, and Chrysoprase.

Citrine

Citrine comes in many forms and is a popular Wiccan stone, because it is believed to have psychic properties. This quartz is believed to open the user's mind for strengthened intuition, and is also believed to strengthen the ability to adjust to change. The Citrine is believed to help strengthen an individual's mental clarity. It is also used to help cure diseases of the internal tissues, kidneys, liver and digestive organs. It helps the user to have cheerfulness and hope and draw in wealth.

Diamond

The diamond is still a modern-day wonder for its brilliant shine and color clarity. Even though diamonds are sought after within the shopping arena, they are also popular within the Wiccan religion. The diamond offers the user protection from disease and evil, and six-sided diamonds are believed to bring balance and accord. However, triangular-shaped diamonds are believed to bring friction and disharmony to the user. The diamond is also believed to endow the user with fortitude and an unnatural fierceness.
