Cure Nausea
Nausea affects everyone from time to time, from expectant mothers, to cancer patients to those who drink a little too much. That nauseous feeling usually passes, but if it decides to stick around, here are some remedies for feeling better faster.
Instructions
1. Skip a meal. Try to go without eating anything for 2 to 12 hours.
2. Drink something fizzy. This recommendation is an old wives' tale, but it usually works to kick nausea to the curb. Carbonated water or clear soda are common favorites.
3. Hydrate your body. A steady intake of fluids is the one of the best remedies for nausea. Drink water, clear-colored sports drinks and the suggested drinks in Step 2, since your body is probably not ready for anything else. Dehydration can lead to conditions worse than simply being nauseous.
4. Find a dark corner to rest in. For thousands of migraine sufferers, the darkest room they can find is the best remedy for that nauseous feeling. Close the blinds, turn off the lights, kill the television and climb under the covers until the wave passes.
5. Stay away from smells, sounds and movements that will trigger nausea. These are a little different for every person, but some common nausea-inducing situations are: loud television, roller coaster rides, blood or gore, violence, rotten odors and fear.
6. Consider anti-nausea medication. When that woozy feeling won't go away, ask your physician to prescribe medicine. Anti-nausea meds are sometimes the only remedies for pregnant women and cancer patients.
