Get A Cheek Augmentation

Cheek augmentation is the process of redefining the soft tissue in the cheek. Healthy cheeks are properly sized to fit your face, often giving the look of a strong check bone with just the right amount of soft tissue to create a full appearance. Plastic surgeons offering augmentation will improve too fat or large cheeks, or will add tissue to the check area to create a fuller look, depending on what the patient needs.

Instructions

Options in Check Augementation

1. Determine if surgery is right for you. Be sure you are in good health. Nearly all check augmentation surgeries require good health and you should not have any skin or nasal conditions. Analyze the risks involved with the type of augmentation you need as well, which your surgeon will go over with you.

2. Look at your options in materials used from your own body. Bone grafts are transplanted bone from other areas of your body. They have a longer recovery time, but less chance of rejection. Fat transfer and autologous tissue grafts remove fat tissue from other locations of your body and deposit them into your checks. The only drawback is resorption by the body of the tissue over time.

3. Consider cadaveric bone grafts, tissues or other, outside donations. Cadaveric tissues come from people that have been recently deceased and have approved such methods. Additionally, you can elect to have tissue donated from family members or anonymous donors.

4. Find out if implants will work for your needs. Silicone implants come in a wide range of styles and sizes and offer an easy to find solution. They are safe to use and require little concern of your body rejecting them. They may need to be adjusted or filled over time.

5. Locate a qualified surgeon for check implantation or augmentation in your area and have a full consultation. Be sure you trust the doctor and know the full procedure including what will be performed and a payment schedule. Ask about your options in augmentation, then make arrangements for the procedure to happen. Some medical testing of your health and risks may be necessary, but is completed by your surgeon.
