Dogs are usually the biggest fans of couch sleeping.
Nearly everyone has slept on a couch at some point in their lives. The experience itself is as varied as the couches are. However, because the sole purpose of couches is to provide space for lounging and not sleeping, they often leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the latter. If you know that you're going to be sleeping on a couch for an extended period of time due to travel or moving house, it will definitely pay to make this piece of furniture more comfortable for your nightly rest.
Instructions
1. Remove all the cushions and measure the length of the seating area of the couch. Write it down. Measure the width as well. Write it down.
2. Visit a lumberyard and purchase a piece of plywood that is 2 inches thick and the length and width of the seating area of your couch. Slide it under the cushions to create added support for yourself.
3. Visit a camping and outdoor goods supply store and purchase an inflatable ground pad. Inflate it and put it over your cushions. This will give you the added support of the rigid canvas, yet still a soft surface to sleep on on top of the cushions.
4. Measure the height of the couch with all the new added layers. Purchase a large ottoman that matches this height as closely as possible. Since many couches are too small for sleeping, positioning an ottoman by the couch will allow you to angle your legs outward diagonally, letting you stretch them out.
