Plant Feverfew And Brenda Flowers From Seed

Feverfew flowers look like daisies.

Both feverfew and the painted daisy Tanacetum coccineum "Brenda" are herbaceous perennials with daisy-like flowers and attractive foliage. They both grow in full sun to partial shade. Feverfew has white flowers, and Brenda has bright pink flowers. Feverfew thrives in USDA Hardiness Zone 4 and up, while Brenda is hardy between zones 3 and 7, reports the Kansas State University Extension. Plant both flowers from seed in mid-spring to have flowers by summer.

Instructions

1. Select a site in your garden with full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Work 4 to 5 inches of compost into the soil to the depth of 8 to 10 inches.

2. Sprinkle the Brenda and feverfew seeds into the seedbed about a month before the last spring frost.

3. Cover the seeds with a dusting of one-quarter inch of soil.

4. Dampen the seedbed with water so it's moist but not soaking. The feverfew seeds will germinate in two weeks, and Brenda will germinate in about 10 days.
