Recipe for Making Perfume Oils

1. Place the plastic covering for your table or work area down first. Set up all your supplies on the plastic covering. This can get to be a messy project.

Use your funnel to pour the olive oil or almond oil into the air tight dark container. This will be the base for your recipe to make perfume oil.

Olive oil is a cheaper alternative to sweet almond oil which is commonly used when dealing with essential oils but works just as well for a lot less money.

2. Once you have added your base olive oil add one drop of your essential oil scent of choice using the eyedropper. Sniff the container to see if the scent is to your liking. You may add more if desired.

Essential oils are made from plant and flower extracts. These oils make a concentrated scent that can be very overpowering. This is why only one drop of essential oil should be used at a time.

3. Place cap onto the airtight container and store in a dark place such as a closet overnight. This will give the essential oils a chance to infuse with the olive oil.

For stronger perfume oil leave in the dark place for a couple of days. You can create a variety of scents by mixing different essential oils such as lavender and rose or you can make your perfume oils with just one essential oil.

4. When you are ready to take your perfume oil out of the dark area you left it in, open and smell it. If the scent is right you can now place this in your perfume bottle. If the scent is not right you can repeat this process. You can also change the scent by adding more than one essential oil scent of choice. Combinations can make wonderful scented perfume oils.

5. Use your perfume oil sparingly by placing a small amount on your finger and dabbing behind the ears, just above the collar bone and on the inside of your wrist. You can use a larger amount for massage.
