Meditate Using Chakra Stones


Using mediation and chakra stones together is a natural match for healing purposes. Meditation has been proven by neuroscientists to relieve stress, anxiety and mild depression. Also, everything is made of energy, and the chakra system is an ancient Chinese belief that we each have energy centers in our bodies. Using specific stones that resonate with the seven energy centers while meditating can be beneficial to a person's body, mind and spirit. There is more than one type of stone that can be used on each chakra during meditation; this is just one method by which it can be done.


Instructions


1. Purchase or gather stones needed for meditating. Each chakra area vibrates to body organs, mental and/or emotional issues, physical issues and a color (see Resources below).


2. Choose a location and time where you will not be disturbed. Lay down in a comfortable place, wearing comfortable clothing.








3. Place the stones on the corresponding chakra. Red jasper goes on the first (or root) chakra, on the crotch area. Carnelian is placed on the second chakra, a couple of inches below the navel. Citrine should lay on your third chakra, the solar plexus area, a couple of inches above the navel. Green quartz goes on the fourth chakra, your heart area at the center of the body. Sodalite is placed on your fifth chakra, at the center of the throat. Azurite should lay on your sixth chakra, at the middle of your forehead. Amethyst is placed on your seventh (or crown) chakra, at the top of your head. This last stone may lay on whatever you are resting on.


4. Close your eyes and calm your body by taking three deep, slow breaths. Inhale with your nose and exhale out your mouth. Ground your self by visualizing roots (tree-like) exiting your feet and entering the ground. Then let go of the thought.


5. Lay still for approximately 20 minutes. The idea of meditating is to keep your mind free of thought. It is natural for your mind to constantly move about with thoughts. Don't get upset when it wanders; simply bring yourself back to a state of stillness, letting go of any concerns.








6. Remove the stones at the end of your meditation session. Start with the seventh chakra and remove them each as they were placed on your body, in reverse order.
