A deep cleansing diet is one that removes toxins from your system. This type of diet is actually more of a fruit and vegetable diet, as almost all other types of foods are either restricted or eliminated. Typically, it is recommended that if you were to do a deep cleansing diet, you would only take part in it for 2 weeks. After this time, you should introduce other foods back into your diet.
Instructions
1. Cut out all processed foods. When you begin a deep cleansing diet, you'll need to eliminate all foods that are processed or contain additives and refined substances.
2. Increase your water intake. Most people don't get enough water in a day's time. If you already drink 64 oz. of water in a day, you're already there and don't really need to up the intake.
3. Eliminate all animal-based products. This would include poultry, fish, pork, beef, dairy and eggs. While these types of foods can be part of a well-balanced diet, they are not a part of a cleansing diet.
4. Substitute the animal-based products with whole-grains and legumes. These will actually be your source of protein during a cleansing diet.
5. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat. Fruit and vegetables are considered natural internal cleansers. This can be done by substituting a salad for a meal or apples and oranges for snacks. Try steamed vegetables, raw vegetables, basmati rice, mung beans, sweet potatoes, rolled oats, barley and other organic foods.
6. Incorporate stretching and breathing exercises into your day. To add weight to the cleansing diet, you should begin to stretch your entire body upon waking. This should be followed by a period of deep breathing. You may also want to consider incorporating both stretching and breathing after a day at work.
