Stop Bleeding With Acupressure
You may not think to press on your kneecap to slow the bleeding of a bloody nose or small wound, but it can actually help. There is an acupressure point on your knee that can help slow minor bleeding, you just need to know access it properly.
Instructions
1. Bend either of your knees at a 90-degree angle to help you find the correct pressure point. At the top of the knee, there is an hemorrhagic point which will be tender to the touch if you're bleeding.
2. Tap the area lightly in a quick motion. With your index, middle and ring fingers, lightly tap the pressure repeatedly. Do this quickly and for the minimum of 60 seconds.
3. Massage the pressure point. If the bleeding doesn't begin to slow down after 30 seconds, take your two thumbs and firmly massage the pressure point in a circular motion.
4. Apply pressure to either knee. With acupressure it doesn't matter which knee you use, so choose whichever one is most comfortable to you when doing self-acupressure. If it's possible to massage both points, this can help speed up the process however, it's not necessary.
