Reverse Carotid Artery Buildup







Carotid artery disease occurs when major arteries in the neck becoming narrowed due to plaque buildup. The process is atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and puts the patient at major risk for stroke. According to a report published in Atherosclerosis, July 2005, consumption of folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 can reduce carotid artery plaque. After one year, human participants in the study showed regression of atherosclerosis.


Instructions


1. Purchase doses of 2.5 mg folic acid, 25 mg vitamin B6, and .5 mg vitamin B12.


2. Take one tablet of each, daily.


3. Drink pomegranate juice. Pomegranate juice, stenting, and B-vitamins have shown to be effective in lowering and helping to reduce carotid artery disease.


4. Make lifestyle changes. According to the Mayo Clinic, developing a healthy lifestyle can help to prevent or slow the progression of carotid artery disease.








Quit smoking; limit cholesterol and fat; eat a variety of fruits and vegetables; limit sodium; exercise regularly; limit alcohol; maintain a healthy weight; and control chronic conditions.
