Make A Sock Frog

Old socks have many uses. They keep your feet warm, make great chew toys for dogs and of course, you can make a sock frog. Adults and children alike may enjoy making a sock frog. So the next time the dryer eats the mate to one of your socks collect the spares and make a sock frog.

Instructions

1. Create the eyes of the sock frog. Cut the foot of one sock in half so that you have one side with a red heel and the other side with a red toe. Stuff them with cotton or excess fabric and sew them closed so that they are shaped as eyeballs. The red area is the eyeball.

2. Make the head and body of the sock frog. The foot of the second sock is the body of the sock frog with the red heel being the mouth. Stuff it to capacity and sew the eyeballs on top.

3. Design front legs by sewing together the scraps from sock one. Sew the bottom and sides, stuff with cotton and hem the top closed. Do the same for the other front leg and attach the legs to the body of the sock frog.

4. Sew the scraps of the second sock to make the longer back legs. Sew the sides and bottom of the back legs, stuff with cotton and attach to the bottom sides of the sock frog body. When attached, the legs will point out to the side instead of forward.

5. Stitch two red lines through the feet of the frog to create toes. This will make the feet flatter. Use several stitches of red thread to make the lines thicker.
