Increase Metabolism For Women

Metabolism slows down as we age and become more sedentary. A woman's metabolism is naturally slower than a man's, as a man typically has more muscle mass. There are many strategies available for women who want to increase their metabolism and burn unwanted fat, no matter what their age.

Instructions

1. Get moving. Your metabolism slows down when you slow down. Create an exercise plan that includes aerobic exercise as well as walking.

2. Drink at least sixty-four ounces of water every day. Your body retains water when it does not get enough. It stores up the water, thinking it will not get more. When you drink more water, your body processes it more efficiently.

3. Start a weight-training program to build up your muscles. Muscles burn more energy than fat, increasing your metabolism.

4. Reduce your calorie intake. Focus on reducing fats and sugars. Eat several small meals during the day rather than three large meals and always eat breakfast.

5. Change your routine and your diet every few days. Even during an exercise routine, alternately speed up and slow down the pace, so that your metabolism has to keep up. When you reduce your calorie intake or continue on a consistent pace in your exercise, your metabolism will adjust to the new intake and calorie-burning rate.
